Enterprise Information Technology as a Service (EITaaS) is a Department of the Air Force (DAF) initiative to leverage commercial business services and best practices to provide standardized, innovative, and agile IT service across the enterprise and allow Airmen and Guardians to focus their time and efforts on mission-critical work.

Enterprise IT Service Management (EITSM) 3.0

Updated platform on ServiceNow to serve as a central hub for software and hardware asset management

Enterprise Service Desk (ESD)

An enterprise help desk, available 24/7/365, staffed with qualified technicians for all IT service questions

End User Devices

Modern devices with high-performance hardware to meet mission demands

Field Services

Local and customized IT services to support the unique users and mission requirements of the base

Unified Endpoint Management

Updated existing security capability and reduced Central Processing Unit (CPU) load to improve device performance and leverage industry-leading software for unified endpoint management and protection

Beginning in 2019, the Department of the Air Force implemented IT services at 9 Air Force installations during what is known as the Risk Reduction Effort (RRE) to gather lessons learned to prepare for IT implementation across the DAF. RRE bases include:

• Buckley SFB, Colorado
• Cannon AFB, New Mexico
• Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex, Alabama
• Offutt AFB, Nebraska
• Hurlburt Field, Florida
• Pope Field, North Carolina
• Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska
• Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany

Wave One was implemented at RRE bases first and is now being implemented across the DAF in a phased approach starting during calendar year 2024. Wave One includes diverse and integrated end-user devices and advanced data protection. All services are Non-Secure Internet Protocol (NIPR) supported and have begun to integrate with Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPR).

Base Infrastructure Modernization (BIM) is an EITaaS program (formerly known as Wave 2) that seeks to overhaul and modernize the existing DAF base area network infrastructure.
